2015 Bentwood Box Auction raised $42,693.85
In order to help raise funds and awareness about UNYA, our Native Youth Centre capital campaign, and some of our underfunded arts and culture programs, the Lattimer Gallery coordinated and hosted the 5th annual Bentwood Box Auction which culminated in a closing reception on December 5, 2015.
James Michels donated the bentwood boxes and 20 other artists donated their amazing skills and creativity to beautifully craft one-of-a-kind pieces. Other donors such as Vancity, www.firstnations101.com, Hub International Barton Insurance Brokers, Schmidt + Funk Financial Services Ltd, Precision Graphics, and community members matched with $6,100.00 in funds. Hundreds of people participated online and in person at the final live event at the Lattimer Gallery. We are extremely grateful for everyone's generosity and look forward to next year's event.
You can view this year's boxes here. To see boxes from all five years, select a specific year in the centre of the page. You can also purchase commemorative books highlighting every box for each year by contacting the Lattimer Gallery.
